Be mesmerised by 1 of 14 must do walks in NZ.
A great place to come to get away from it all.
Explore old goldmine tunnels, historic relics of the past, deep gorges, crystal clear rivers and stunning waterfalls. Visit the largest open cast mine in the southern hemisphere, see glow worms, spectacular views over Tauranga from the Minden, enjoy a stunning scenic drive and relax over a glass of NZ wine and great cuisine afterwards.
The Karangahake walk is all about taking people on a self guided historic, flora and fauna walk. The walk is easy, the views spectacular, the history rich. Refer to this PDF.
The tour is approximately 6 hours from pick up to drop off. There is plenty of time to explore the gorge, take photos and soak up the atmosphere. On completion of the walk we then enjoy a leisurely lunch and a glass of NZ wine at a local café. Time permitting we will call into Waihi township to see the Martha mine and the Cornish pump house.
