After meeting your guide just outside the port gate, depart along Pilot Bay where you can see the great views across Tauranga Harbor to the city, inner reaches of the harbor and Matakana Island. Pass Mauao, the iconic landmark of this area where you can see evidence of the early Maori settlements around the base of the mountain. Hear the Maori legend of how Mauao got his name. As we pass by Mauao we arrive at one of New Zealands most popular beaches "The Mount Main Beach" the home of Surf Life saving, surfing competitions, beach volleyball and a popular spot for locals and visitors to enjoy the beach front cafes and restaurants. Continue along the very affluent "Marine Parade" where some of New Zealand's most expensive homes are located along with some stunning examples of the NZ native pohutukawa tree. When you see the view out across the Pacific Ocean, you will realize why this is such a popular summer holiday destination. We tell you a little bit about the region. it's history and its rapid growth.

Leaving Tauranga we head east towards Comvita the home of the honey bee and our world famous Manuka honey. Hear the story behind one mans passion to blend nature, health and wellness together. Sample some of the many products available, and used around the world. Learn how they support and benefit our health and purchase a Manuka Honey ice cream.

A short drives takes us to Kiwifruit Country where you can walk right under the Kiwifruit vines. We will explain a little bit about the industry and why we grow some of the best Kiwifruit in the world. Sample kiwifruit, juices, jams, chutneys and ice cream, or pick up a memento of your visit to the orchard.

Heading back to the city we make a stop in downtown Tauranga to see the original Port location and view the revamped harbouside. Highlights included the Hairy Maclary sculptures, Maori carvings, tidal stairs, great photo's of you at the Angel wings wall or that last minute souvenir.
This is a tour to make all your senses sing - See .. amazing scenery. Hear - the sound of the ocean and birds in the trees.  Smell - the fresh country and seaside air. Taste - the amazing produce of our region. Fell the great vibes of this fast growing region.
